Who we are

The Newborns Asthma and Parental Smoking (NAPS) Project is funded by Healthway and based at the Asthma Foundation of WA. The NAPS Project also receives corporate sponsorship from Coles Baby, under the Coles Cares brand.

The Asthma Foundation of WA is a community based, non-profit organisation dedicated to the alleviation of asthma as a cause of morbidity and mortality in our community. To this end, The Foundation offers support services for people with asthma and their carers, and funds local medical and scientific research into asthma

  • To minimise the impact of asthma on the lives of people with asthma, by improving their general health and understanding of current, medically approved asthma management techniques.
  • To provide current and accurate information to interest groups including parents, health service administrators, government bodies, medical practitioners, nurses, pharmacists, sports coaches, employers, school teachers, and child care workers which will improve the treatment and care of asthma sufferers.
  • To promote and fund research into the mechanisms, causes, impact and treatment of asthma.
  • To raise the public’s general awareness of the difficulties and challenges confronting asthma sufferers and the impact of the disease on the West Australian Community.
